Transplant Day -2: Jailbreak!

Are you not entertained? Let me hear your voices in the comments. I'm going a bit crazy in here and it helps to know that people are following.

Yesterday (Sunday) was the last day of the comb-chemo (morning and night) and still not feeling to much in the why of physical effects. Mainly the psychological effects of being stuck in here like a trapped tiger (yes, that's worse than a monkee). Luckily it was a pretty nice day and "security" is lax around here so when Julie and I heard our friend Sean from AK was passing through on his way to Philly, we executed a jailbreak maneuver and hung out with him outside for a little bit before he continued on. Definitely against protocol but the weather was beautiful and my counts are still up.
Incognito/Ninja Monkee... and Sean
Today's soundtrack is brought to you by a band I've been following since 1995 and have seen countless times live, Clutch. Their early stuff still gets me pumped up which maybe isn't what I need right now but I feel like I need to maintain the aggressively positive attitude towards beating this at the expense of making myself a bit nuts.

  1. You're going nuts? Monkee, anything worth doing is worth overdoing!

    1. I haven't opened any of these yet but heaven help you if you linked that bicycle video. Let me know now. I don't think I could take that at this point.

    2. Not sure which bicycle video you mean, but you need to open those links. It's like a weird version of Russian roulette -- three silly videos, and a mesmerizing one. You can decide which is which.

    3. Damn it Tim! Never trust a Woody. I hear three words and now it's stuck in my head.

  3. Keep up with the laps and stairs, Monkey! Boring now = riding/hiking/playing later. Not a bad trade off when you consider how many years of LIFE you have ahead of you!! This short time right now is NOTHING compared to the time for adventures that is left! Keep thinking forward and use this time wisely... like upping your game scores! Hang in there!

  4. Did you and Sean plan another Fairangel "mountainbike" trip?

    1. No formal plans were made but you can bet here will be something in that vein. Still looking at some big loops on mining "roads" off the Denali Hwy.

  5. I think you look pretty badass with the mask - this monkee is rated Not Visible for All Audiences.

  6. I saw Julie's FB post today and I'm just catching back up on your blog. That's great news about the radiation taking, and there are a lot of people thinking of you guys back here.

While you're busy recovering we're all working hard to make sure the snow is ready for your triumphant return to AK. We still need another 6" or for for things to be truly great, but I'm sure we'll have that soon. In the meantime good luck with the treatment and keep your spirits up!
